NBA great Michael Jordan unconcerned about NBA’s new COVID protocols for the players

The NBA recently has released a few mandates where vaccination is of great priority and it will decide whether some of the players will feature for their respective teams in the upcoming season. Some of the top players including Kyrie Irving are in the line of fire to miss home matches for the Brooklyn Nets.

However, NBA great Michael Jordan is not worried about the NBA’s COVID protocols. He recently appeared on ‘Today’s Show’ sharing his views on the matter.

“I am in total unison with the league. And I think everybody’s been speaking about the vaccinations, and you know, I’m a firm believer in science,” Jordan said. “I’m gonna stick with that, and hopefully everybody abides by whatever the league sets as rules. I think once everybody buys in we’re gonna be fine.”

Speaking about the NBA Championship contenders, Jordan made some interesting choices. The former Chicago Bulls legend feels that the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks are in pole position to retain the NBA title. He also feels teams like Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets can also challenge for the title in the upcoming season.

“It’s hard to knock out Milwaukee. I’m a firm believer that if you’re a champion someone’s gonna have to knock you off the pedestal. Brooklyn in the East, you got Miami’s changed. You know, my old team Chicago made some big, big changes. They may compete in the East as well. The Lakers are gonna come back. The Clippers are gonna come back,” Jordan said.

Jordan feels that the team which will be healthy, battles COVID rules the best, will have the best chance of winning the NBA Championship.

Coming to his team, the Charlotte Hornets, Jordan is eager to see how they fare in the new season. There will be a lot of expectations riding on Lamelo Ball. The Hornets fans will hope that the youngster can guide them to the playoffs this season; they have not qualified for the postseason since 2016.

The Hornets have featured in three preseason matches against teams like Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. They won their first game against the OKC Thunder before a rampant defeat against the Grizzlies. They picked up pace against the Heat but lost the game by 103-104.
