Reggie Miller shares his message of appreciation for Steph Curry as he reaches historic landmark

Golden State Warriors were swept aside by Donovan Mitchell and company as the Utah Jazz reigned supreme with a dominant scoreline of 127-108. Despite the loss, it was a great day for Steph Curry as his clutch three-pointer took him past Hall of Fame and Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers list.

While conducting the celebrations, Miller himself came to the virtual party to congratulate Curry on his exceptional feat. The Warriors’ great is known for his exceptional gameplay and his knack of breaking records and against the Jazz, it was not different. Miller also validated the point guard on how good he has been over the years. In the five minute call the five-time All-Stars’ son also joined in to show his love for Curry.

“Congratulations. This is an unbelievable achievement. But the work is not done. I know you are chasing Ray, but you are an inspiration to so many little ones, like mine,” Miller told Curry.

He also highlighted the 32-year-old’s exceptional work ethic which has allowed him to reach this level. “I am just so proud of all the work because I know what goes into that. I know the countless hours when it’s easy to go hang with your boys, hit the clubs, sleep, do other things, but you’re in the lab getting your work done,” Miller added.

“There are sacrifices that come with that and the blend that you have with your family and basketball and Dub Nation. The Millers are very proud of you,” he continued.

Curry was overwhelmed with Reggie Miller’s comments on him as he was one of his inspirations while growing up and coming up the ranks in basketball. The Pacers’  legend took 1388 regular-season games to reach 2560 three-pointers while Curry took only 715 games to overtake the record.

“To try and live out that competitive juice, the work that goes in, the appreciation of every game I get to play, to shoot the ball at this level, to follow in your footsteps in that regard means a lot,” Curry said. “So I appreciate the support you and Ray, to have two guys reach back and encourage me like you all have means a lot. So I’ll pass that torch on as well.”

Steph Curry is currently second in the all-time list and therefore his next target is to overtake Ray Allen. The Boston Celtics legend, who is also a two time NBA champion, made 2973 three-pointers in his career. But considering the odds, Curry is likely to overtake him before he hangs his boots.
