Tomas Satoransky rubbishes the media reports of Zion Williamson leaving the Pelicans

The NBA is full of superstars and therefore rookies do not get that much attention. However, it was different in LeBron James’s case back in 2003. Since then, New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has earned that honour. He is considered to be the future face of the NBA and always finds himself in the news for all good reasons.

Zion got media attention even before entering the NBA. The media and audience would flock to the arena to watch him play. In college, his exploits for Duke are well known along with his popularity.

His athleticism and amazing body frame attracted people to the arenas to watch him play. The fascinating fact about him is although he is big he is still very agile than most of his counterparts. It was surely a huge advantage for the youngster. Then Zion got drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans as he became the overall number 1 pick.

Since then he has spent two seasons with the Pelicans and now the media are once again surrounding him. There are rumours of Zion leaving the franchise due to lack of good players. According to rumours, he wants to win the NBA title and the current Pelicans team is nowhere near that target hence he wants to move out of New Orleans.

But Zion’s new teammate Tomas Satoransky believes that the media are cooking up stories to break up teams ahead of the NBA season.

Zion was in fiery form last season as he got into the All-Star for the first time. He also finished the season with an average of 27 points and seven rebounds and was undoubtedly the best player for the Pelicans. But he did not receive that much attention as his team was not doing that great. However now rumours have come out that the youngster is not happy with the Pelicans management and wants to move out.

However Satoransky has rubbished the rumours and has also called them false. He said: “I have a feeling that some American media which cover the NBA want to break up teams and create fake stories so that something’s happening. This one’s dissatisfied, this one wants to leave – and most of the time the truth is elsewhere or in the middle. It’s definitely not true that Zion in his third season is thinking about not having good players around him. I’m convinced of that.”

The 21-year-old needs to keep his mind out of all these things and should focus on improving his game each day. He is extremely talented and success will come sooner than later.
