You are what your record says you are – Steve Kerr after GSW’s woes continues

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was disappointed after his team suffered a huge loss of 143-113 against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. The Dubs fell to a 1-5 record on the road in their last six matches and Kerr admitted it has been a poor road trip for the team.

The team has an overall record of 3-16 while playing away from home in the ongoing season. GSW have deeply missed the services of their talisman Steph Curry, who is out of action due to a left shoulder injury.

“You are what your record says you are,” Kerr said. “It was a bad road trip. We are 15-18, so we’re below -.500 team, and we’ve got to find a way to reverse that.”

On the other hand, Brooklyn Nets continued their good show as they won their sixth match on the bounce. The Nets have won 11 of their last 12 matches.

In fact, Brooklyn Nets lead by a gargantuan margin of 40 points after the first half. After the first two quarters, the Nets were 91-51 as they blew away the visitors. This was Nets’ best first half in their NBA history.

“That first half, it was kind of a shock,” Draymond Green told ESPN.

Meanwhile, Nets’ linchpin Durant finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. The veteran revealed the success mantra of his team after the win.

“It’s a make-or-miss league,” Durant said. “We’ve been generating solid shots all year. I think they just started to fall now. It’s going to come with time. … It’s about shooting the ball with confidence, being aggressive downhill to make plays for others, tonight was one of those nights.”

On the other hand, Jordan Poole had 13 points on 4-of-17 shooting, including 1-of-11 from 3-point range, two assists, and seven turnovers against the Nets. Kerr feels the youngster is just trying too hard.

“The simpler [he] plays, the easier shots [he] gets. It sounds like a bit of a paradox, but it’s been an issue here for us the past few games,” Kerr said.
“The last couple of nights [he was] just trying way too hard.”

GSW will next take on Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
