Fury to make comeback in January

Tommy Fury is set to make a comeback to the ring come January 2025. He is expected to face former UFC fighter Darren Till at Co-op Live in Manchester on January 18 in his first fight since his controversial victory over KSI in October 2023, and he aims to maintain his undefeated record of 10-0.

The 25-year-old Fury, half-brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, expressed excitement about headlining the event in his hometown. “It feels great to finally say that I am back. I’ve been out of the ring for far too long,” he stated.

He emphasized how significant the fight is, noting that he will perform in front of local fans: “This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans.”

Fury’s last fight against KSI was a split decision victory over YouTuber Jake Paul earlier in 2023. Despite his success, the match against KSI was not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control, raising questions about its legitimacy. Nevertheless, Fury remains confident as he prepares to face Till, who has transitioned from a successful MMA career to boxing.

31-year-old Till brings considerable experience to the ring with a record of 18 wins and five losses in MMA. He was a title challenger in the UFC but faced a downturn in his career before making his boxing debut. In July 2024, Till won an exhibition match against Mohammad Mutie by TKO. He aims to make quite the impact in boxing and has stated, “January 18 is my time, my night.”

Fury believes that while Till had a commendable UFC career, he will struggle in boxing against a “proper pro” like himself. “He will quickly realize that he is out of his depth,” Fury remarked confidently. He plans to handle Till decisively and then pursue even bigger opportunities in 2025.
