AC Milan is on the verge of finalizing their eighth signing for the summer transfer window. A deal with Valencia for midfielder Yunus Musah is in its final stages, with all the necessary documents being exchanged, as reported.
During this transfer window, AC Milan has been one of the most active clubs in Europe, securing the arrivals of Marco Sportiello, Luka Romero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Tijjani Reijnders, Noah Okafor, and Samuel Chukwueze.
According to the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, the signing of Yunus Musah is imminent, with the deal being worked out between AC Milan and Valencia since last July 30. The agreement is expected to become official very soon.
To complete the transfer, Musah will undergo medical examinations in Italy this week. The deal was struck at €20 million, negotiated between AC Milan and Valencia.
Upon joining AC Milan, Musah will be a crucial addition to their midfield, alongside Reijnders and Loftus-Cheek, as they look to rebuild following the departure of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United for a club record fee.
Calciomercato.com reports that Musah’s Milan adventure will commence on August 2 when he arrives in Italy. His medical and fitness tests are scheduled for August 3. Following successful tests, he will head to Casa Milan to finalize the multi-year contract with the Rossoneri.
The negotiation between AC Milan and Valencia was lengthy, eventually resulting in an agreement of €18 million, with an additional €2 million in easily achievable bonuses and €1 million in more challenging bonuses.
As part of the deal, Musah will sign a five-year contract, earning €2 million net per season, which translates to roughly €10 million net, or just under €14 million gross, considering the Growth Decree benefits.
Interestingly, Yunus Musah, the USA international, has chosen the shirt number 80 in honor of his idol Ronaldinho, who previously donned the same number during his time at AC Milan.
