Alphonso Davies praises teammate Lewandowski

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has showered a lot of praise on his fellow teammate and top finisher Robert Lewandowski after the Polish international got a brace in a hard-fought win over Paderborn on Friday night.

The Brilliant forward [Lewandowski] scored his 24th and 25th goals of the Bundesliga season at home to Paderborn after they pulled level with the Bavarians. The only player to have achieved such feat is Gerd Muller scoring a higher number of goals in a season.

Alphonso Davies revealed after the match that Lewandowski is a brilliant striker saying, ” he is one of the best finishers in the game. He scores any chance you give him both outside and inside the box”.

” It is our responsibility as a team to give him all the support he needs and keep passing the ball to him. As a forward, it is his job to score, and we are glad he is consistent with it”.
Lewandowski consistency has been top-notch that has only failed to find the back of the net in five league matches in this Bundesliga campaign.

He started the ’19/’20 season scoring in eleven straight games, which includes a hattrick in his Bundesliga matches so far.

The 31- year old forward has also scored ten goals in his five UEFA Champions League group outings and even more than three goals in DFB Pokal Cup games.

His potency in front of goal has seen him scored 38 goals in 33 competitive games, which equals at least a goal in every 0.86 games. There is no such player in the top five leagues in Europe to have scored more.

He will have the chance to add to his goal-scoring charts when they travel to face the Premier League side, Chelsea, in London.
