Ander Herrera has made it clear he will give his all to help Paris Saint German achieve success after joining the Ligue 1 giants on Thursday.
The 29-year-old’s five-year deal with Manchester United expired this summer and, unable to agree new terms at Old Trafford, he was free to leave. PSG made their move and enticed the man capped twice by Spain to the Parc des Princes, with the midfielder penning a five-year contract with the French outfit.
Herrera had options but opted for the Parisians and he was delighted to sign on the dotted line. “Paris Saint-Germain is the greatest club in France,” he said. “I was looking forward to coming to Paris and to wearing those colours.
“I hope to continue to make history with the club. Joining this club is an amazing feeling.”
Herrera did not win a league title with the Red Devils but did manage to secure an FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League winner’s medal, and he will leave no stone unturned in the quest for glory. “I promise three things: work, professionalism and passion,” he added.
“I also promise to improve my French because I think that the language is very important for the team’s communication.”
PSG have dominated French football for number of years and are as short as 1.13 to win the top-flight title once again in 2019-2020. However, it is the Champions League that the club’s top brass want to win and Thomas Tuchel’s side can be backed at 9.50 to walk away with Europe’s elite club competition next year.
