Turin & Budapest to host UEFA Conference League finals in 2028 and 2029, respectively

Turin and Budapest have been selected to host the 2028 and 2029 UEFA Conference League finals respectively, following decisions by the UEFA Executive Committee at its meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Juventus Stadium will stage the 2028 final, while Puskás Aréna will host the 2029 showpiece.

Juventus Stadium, which opened in 2011 on the site of the former Stadio delle Alpi, has previously hosted several major UEFA events.

The Turin venue staged the 2014 Europa League final, where Sevilla defeated Benfica on penalties after a goalless draw, as well as matches during the 2021 UEFA Nations League finals.

The stadium also hosted the 2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League final, in which Lyon defeated Barcelona 3-1.

Its selection for the 2028 Conference League final will add another major European occasion to the venue’s growing history.

Puskás Aréna, meanwhile, opened in 2019 and replaced Hungary’s former national stadium, which was named after legendary footballer Ferenc Puskás.

The Budapest venue has already hosted the 2020 UEFA Super Cup, the 2023 Europa League final and the 2026 Champions League final.

The 2029 Conference League final will make Puskás Aréna the first stadium to have hosted finals of all three of UEFA’s current senior men’s club competitions.

The venue previously saw Paris defeat Arsenal on penalties in the 2026 Champions League final after a 1-1 draw.

The upcoming Conference League finals will begin with Beşiktaş Stadium in Istanbul hosting the 2027 edition, followed by Juventus Stadium in Turin in 2028 and Puskás Aréna in Budapest in 2029.

UEFA has also confirmed several other future final venues, including the 2028 Champions League final in Munich and the 2029 Champions League final at Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, the 2027 UEFA Champions League final will be held at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain. The 2028 and 2029 finals will be at Allianz Arena, Munich and Camp Nou, respectively.
