Angers Manager admits PSG is not quite the same

Paris Saint-Germain head into the international break after defeating Angers 4-0 at Parc de Princess last Saturday. It was a game that saw new signings like Mauro Icardi, Pablo Sarabia, and Idrissa Gueye getting on the score sheet before Neymar Jr capped it off with a goal of his own before the final whistle.

It was a disappointing game for the opposition who arrived in Paris sitting in second place on the log in Ligue 1. They were completely outplayed and barely had access to the ball over 90 minutes.

According to the stats, Angers had 27 percent possession of the ball and had only two shots at Keylor Navas’ goal. With a team on top of the log, this is not the kind of play you will expect from them, especially when because PSG manager Thomas Tuchel had to play Ander Herrera- a Midfielder out of position to play at right-back due to an array of injuries in the team.

Angers manager Stephane Moulin, was quizzed about the result and performance of PSG, in particular, he said some interesting things. ” This Paris team is not quite the same like the one at the beginning of the season.” Moulin said.

“I find them [PSG] very consistent, radiant, and very aggressive in defense, which means they give little or no opportunity to their opponents.”

Moulin continued with his praise for the Paris outfit. ” I’ve discovered that, especially in defense, they are stronger than before. Like I said before, they leave no opportunities for their counterparts”. He was further asked if PSG will continue with that performance. He replied by saying; ” I truly which in all sincerity. It will be good. But they have some outstanding players at their disposal”.

The Angers manager went ahead to praise the quality of depth in the PSG squad and the joint strength they have in the team. He spoke on the sentiments of the PSG supporters. But it’s still good to hear an opposing manager reasonably analyze the reigning French champions and to also give his candid opinion. It’s not something you hear, especially when a manager that a loss of 4-0 is still fresh in his head.

PSG will play Nice in their next game. PSG are backed at 1.40 to win the game while Nice are available at 7.53 to upset PSG.
