Ansu Fati committed to staying at Barcelona

 

Spanish youngster Ansu Fati has ruled out the possibility of a move away from Camp Nou as he looks prepared to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

Fati has been quite linked with a couple of teams, including Premier League teams, but the midfielder is close to signing a contract that will include a release clause of over 1.1 billion dollars.

The 19-year-old has been facing injury problems of late, but it hasn’t stopped him from generating interest from abroad. He also underlined his loyalty to the club with a deal in October 2021.

Fati has made six appearances in the La Liga this season with three goals as well as three UEFA Champions League fixtures.

While granting an interview, Ansu Fati made it clear that moving away was not an option while revealing that the Catalans have given him what he wants and wishes to win more titles with the club.

“No, honestly. Barca have given me everything. That is my club. My main ambition is to win titles with Barcelona. To achieve that for the club and the fans is my number one goal. If this means I also achieve personal records, then amazing. I’ll work hard and stay dedicated. Hopefully, trophies and records will come after that.” he said.

Fati disclosed that the team’s profile as one of the best in the world when he was in La Masia made it easier for him to want to be a part of it and make history.

In July 2019, Ansu Fati signed his first professional contract with Barcelona. The deal was till 2022, and he made his debut for the senior team on August 25, 2019, becoming Barcelona’s second-youngest debutante behind Vincent Martinez.

In three years, he has made 37 appearances in total and scored 14 goals. Fati chose to represent Spain ahead of Guinea, his country of birth, and has made four Caps already for the La Roja.
