Argentina beat Bolivia in come back win, as Ecuador thrash Uruguay 4-1

The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers continued for the South American section on Tuesday evening as Argentina faces Bolivia in La Paz, the country’s capital.

The Bolivians took the lead in the first half in the 24th minute before Lautaro Martinez’s equalizer just before half-time put both teams level going into the break.

Lazio midfielder Joaquin Correa scored the winning goal for Argentina with about 10 minutes left to play from a Lautaro Martinez’s assist.

Argentina got their second win in two games after their 1-0 victory against Ecuador at Home in Argentina last week.

In Quito, Ecuador trashed Uruguay 4-2 in the second World Cup qualifying match played on Tuesday evening.

The home side took an early lead in the 14th minute through Mena Delgado before a second goal before half-time from Estrada Martinez gave them a comfortable lead.

Uruguay had a goal disallowed for handball early in the second half, and it wasn’t long before Ecuador scored two more goals to make it four.

Estrada Martinez completed his brace in the 52nd minute before substitute Plata made it 4 with 15 minutes left to play.

Luis Suarez then scored a late brace of penalties to end the game 4-2. As at the time of filing this report, Venezuela and Paraguay were playing a 0-0 draw mid second-half.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Brazil will play Peru while Chile will host Colombia. Temporarily, Argentina top the South American World Cup qualifying table, although Brazil can take over with a win against Peru in Lima.

The next set of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in South America, which is the third round, will be played in November. Then, Brazil will host Venezuela while Argentina will welcome Paraguay.
