“Arsenal are title contenders this season,” says Brentford FC manager Thomas Frank after losing to the Gunners

Arsenal have continued their brilliant form despite their unusual blip against Manchester United as they defeated spirited Brentford in their latest Premier League 3-0 which saw them get back up top of the Premier League table leapfrogging Manchester City. It was a very professional performance from the Gunners as players like William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and substitute Fabio Vieira scored the three goals and brought them back on track.

It was always going to be a tough game for Brentford, something that their manager Thomas Frank understood right from the start. The Gunners have had a very good transfer window and they have reflected that in the start that they had to their Premier League season. The Gunners have now won six out of their first seven games in the league and are looking like a formidable outfit.

Frank shared how this result was expected from his team as they faced a top side like Arsenal. He also touched upon how his team were not at their best and not in any position to take something out of this match. “We lost 3-0, to the number one [team] in the Premier League. I said before they are a top side. I think we performed quite well, not 10/10 but if you want to win or get something out of the team flying, you cannot concede the first from a set piece and then the second one,” Frank shared after his team’s 3-0 drubbing against Arsenal.

However, Frank wanted to play right away to back this defeat with a positive result but unfortunately there is the international break in between. So he hopes that the players who will be leaving for the camps do well. Overall sharing about Arsenal he claimed them as title contenders looking at the quality at their disposal.

“We always want to play again but we have the international break, we deal with it and train with the players we have. I wish the players who are going away good luck. We lost the game, I hate losing. They are top of the table so you cannot argue with that, they have done brilliant. Looking at the quality, they must be title contenders,” the Brentford manager opined.

Brentford are currently in ninth position after this defeat with two wins, as many losses and three draws from seven matches. They have done reasonably well but a little more solidity in defense will take them a long way this season. A top ten finish is definitely on the cards with plenty of teams underperforming right now. So they need to up their game in the coming matches. The Bees will face Bournemouth next followed by Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. If everything goes to plan, Brentford can win all three matches or atleast gain good points from these fixtures.
