Arsenal go seven points clear of Manchester City, beats Brighton 1-0

Arsenal strengthened their grip at the top of the Premier League table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Brighton, while Manchester City were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest in a night of significant movement in the title race.

Bukayo Saka’s decisive strike ensured Arsenal took all three points on the south coast, extending their advantage over Pep Guardiola’s side after City dropped points at home.

At the Etihad Stadium, City were forced to settle for a draw despite twice taking the lead. Antoine Semenyo’s volley put Forest ahead before Morgan Gibbs-White produced a clever equaliser.

Rodri restored City’s advantage, but Elliot Anderson struck again for the visitors to earn a valuable point.

The result leaves City playing catch-up as Arsenal continue to build momentum at a crucial stage of the season.

At St James’ Park, Newcastle United produced a stirring 2-1 win over Manchester United despite playing much of the match with 10 men.

The hosts showed resilience and attacking intent after being reduced in numbers, capping their performance with a spectacular late winner.

Anthony Gordon had earlier converted from the penalty spot to give Newcastle the lead, only for Casemiro to level for United before the break.

Manchester United pushed hard in the closing stages, with Bruno Fernandes at the heart of their attacking efforts, but they were unable to find a decisive breakthrough.

Instead, it was William Osula who delivered the defining moment in the 90th minute.

Chasing a ball down the right from inside his own half, he kept it in play, cut inside and curled a superb finish into the far corner to send the home crowd into raptures.

Elsewhere, Chelsea thrashed Aston Villa 4-1 after overturning an early deficit thanks to a Joao Pedro hattrick, while West Ham edged Fulham 1-0 thanks to Crysencio Summerville’s winner.
