Arsenal goalkeepers comment on Mikel Arteta’s way of working

Mikel Arteta has been noted for having an unconventional approach when it comes to his way of working, as he has been seen using drawings and graphics as if he were talking to a lot of 5-year-olds.

He’s also made headlines for doing strange things in the locker room, like this season when he brought a replica of the Emirates clock to an away game.

But despite their unorthodox methods, the players are 100% on board with their way of working, and above all, they feel supported by their coach, as was revealed by the club’s goalkeepers Matt Turner and Aaron Ramsdale.

In an interview with The Guardian, Turner said, “That’s who he is. He likes to make your mind work in different ways, to switch it on and try to get your blood pumping in different ways, to just open your mind.

“And I think one of my favourite qualities about him is that he always has my back. No matter what I do on the pitch, you know, he’s gonna have my back because he knows I work really, really hard.

“I try my best every single day. And it’s easy to play for a guy like that, no matter how demanding he is. You know, you put yourself out there and you try to make his ideas come to life. And he’ll always back you up.”

For his part, Ramsdale acknowledged last August that while team talk are unconventional, they are also refreshing. “His team talks are definitely different. I think he keeps it fresh because sometimes he is writing, sometimes he talks, sometimes he lets some of the lads talk.

“It keeps you engaged and lets you into his life as well. There are new things we have found out about him over the past year that you would never find out unless he wrote a book or something.”
