Arsenal sign Spanish goalkeeper

The world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, has joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £5 million. The 30-year-old Spanish international joins the Gunners on a three-year deal after spending last season on loan at Bournemouth, where he made 35 appearances.

Kepa expressed his excitement about joining Arsenal, highlighting the club’s ambition and his desire to win, as his arrival at the Emirates Stadium will provide competition for compatriot David Raya.

“When I talk with Mikel [Arteta] and Inaki [Cana], they show me their desire to win. They showed me this ambition, how much they want to improve, how much they want to grow, and I’m really here to help, to push, and to win more. We are so close to winning and, hopefully, altogether, we can achieve it.” Kepa said.

Neto, who was on loan at Arsenal from Bournemouth during the 2024-25 campaign, will not be signing permanently. Kepa’s experience and skills will undoubtedly strengthen Arsenal’s goalkeeping department.

The world’s most expensive goalkeeper, having moved to Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for £71 million in 2018, Kepa has had a mixed career. Despite his high price tag, he has shown glimpses of brilliance, including helping Real Madrid win La Liga and the Champions League during his loan spell last season.

Kepa played 163 times for Chelsea and was part of the squads that lifted the Champions League, Europa League, and Club World Cup. His signing is a significant boost for Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The transfer fee of £5 million is a bargain for a goalkeeper of Kepa’s caliber. His experience and expertise will be invaluable to the Arsenal team, and he will undoubtedly play a key role in the club’s success this season.

With Kepa joining Arsenal, the club is looking to strengthen its goalkeeping department and make a push for major honors. The Spanish goalkeeper’s arrival is a welcome addition to the Arsenal squad, and fans will be eager to see him in action.

Arsenal are still very much active in the transfer window as they seek more additions to the team that has only failed to keep up in the title race in the last three seasons.
