Atletico Madrid Overpowers Villarreal with Griezmann Leading the Charge

Atletico Madrid staged a stunning comeback to secure a remarkable 3-1 victory over Villarreal, marking their 15th consecutive league win at home, surpassing their previous record set between May 2012 and February 2013 at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

The contest saw Villarreal initially take the lead as Gerard Moreno struck in the 20th minute. However, the determined hosts rallied fiercely, turning the tide with an electrifying performance. Griezmann, the influential force in Atletico’s attacking front alongside Álvaro Morata, showcased his prowess with a goal and an assist, tallying seven goals in the last six matches. Together, they have steered an attack that has netted an impressive 29 goals in just 12 league matches.
