Barcelona came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Real Oviedo in La Liga, with second-half goals turning the match on its head at Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere.
The win, their fifth in six games, keeps them within two points of league leaders Real Madrid.
The home side stunned the Catalans in the first half when Alberto Reina fired Oviedo ahead in the 33rd minute, giving the 29,850 spectators reason to believe in an upset.
Barcelona, however, regrouped after the break, with their quality and experience proving decisive as the game wore on.
Eric García began the comeback in the 56th minute, calmly finishing to level the score. Barcelona’s pressure mounted, and their persistence paid off when Robert Lewandowski struck in the 70th minute, finishing from close range after good work from Frenkie de Jong to claim his third goal of the season.
With Oviedo pushing for an equaliser, Barcelona sealed the victory late on. Marcus Rashford delivered a pinpoint corner in the 88th minute, which Ronald Araújo powered into the net with a header to put the contest beyond doubt. It was Rashford’s third assist of the season, continuing his bright start at the club.
Despite the defeat, Oviedo tested Barcelona’s defence on several occasions, forcing goalkeeper Joan García into key saves, most notably from Josip Brekalo and Lucas Ahijado in the closing stages.
Their spirited performance earned the applause of the home crowd, even as many fans left early after Barcelona’s decisive third goal.
The result means Barcelona stay firmly in the title race, trailing Real Madrid by just two points.
With Lewandowski rediscovering his scoring touch and key players like Frenkie de Jong and Pedri pulling the strings, Xavi’s side head into their next fixtures with growing confidence.
The Blaugrana will host Real Sociedad on Sunday in their next La Liga game, sitting two points behind League leaders Real Madrid after six matches.
