It seems though Bayern Munich always look to capitalize on the free-agent market for Bundesliga players.
They have pulled off some of the best deals in their history through the free agent market.
Robert Lewandowski joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer, while Leon Goretzka arrived in Bavaria from Schalke on a Bosman deal.
The Bavarian club has been trying to get a free transfer deal over the line in the ongoing winter transfer window.
Bayern have shown concrete interest in signing Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim.
The impressive young midfielder will be available on a free transfer in the summer. It does look like Bayern have managed to beat Bundesliga rivals for his signature.
According to reports circulating in Germany, Tom Bischof has agreed to join Bayern.
The 19-year-old German midfielder will undergo medical to complete the deal next week. Bischof will arrive in Bavaria at the end of the season.
Eintracht Frankfurt had also shown concrete interest in the midfielder, while Hoffenheim were eager to extend his contract.
However, Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl convinced the midfielder to join Bayern.
As things stand, further reports revealed Bayern are not planning a loan move for Bischof.
The youngster will be part of the first team plans when he arrives from Hoffenheim at the end of the season.
Bischof can play in multiple positions in the centre of the park. The teenager works hard out of possession and has good defensive awareness.
Bischof is a promising midfielder, but he will need adequate game time to continue his development.
Bayern will have to make a decision in the summer if it will be better to send him out on loan or keep him around the first team.
Bayern’s other piece of business in the midfield department this winter should be the contract extension of Joshua Kimmich.
The German international is ready to talk with interested clubs regarding a free transfer, but Bayern are determined to extend his contract.
The Bavarian faithful will hope that Mr. Consistent in the midfield eventually signs a new deal and spends the rest of his peak in Munich.
