Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are set to enter into the crucial weeks, which will mostly be centered on the likely departure of Robert Lewandowski.
The Poland International has been trying to push for an exit at the club to secure a move to Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
On the other hand, the Catalan club has made the Pole a priority target for the summer as he is also keen on a move.
However, the Bayern hierarchy has continually stressed that Lewy will remain at the club despite refusing to sign a new deal.
With just 12 months left on the contract tenure, it seems Bayern are using their public refusal of sale to negotiating a higher fee for the 33-year-old.
According to the latest reports from German news outlets, Bayern might explore the possibility of putting Lewandowski for sale if Spanish suitors Barcelona are willing to pay a sum of 60m euros.
A second bid by Barcelona in the region of €35m plus €5m in addons has been rejected by Bayern, and the Catalan-based club will have to come up with a fee that will be deemed fit by the Bavaria club before any deal could be agreed.
Since the end of the Bundesliga season, Lewandowski has been expressing his desire publicly to quit the club and force a move. Looking at this attitude displayed by the forward, it will be in the best interest of both parties if they part ways, as it’s unhealthy keeping an unhappy player in the squad.
From a financial aspect, receiving a fee of 60m euros will be a perfect piece of business done by Bayern for a player of his age [33] as it will bring profit and free up space in the wage bill.
However, Bayern will feel Leey’as impact in the goalscoring department as the Pole averages close to 40 goals per season.
With the latest acquisition of Sadio Mane from Liverpool, Ryan Gravenberch, and teammate Noussair Mazraoui on a free from Ajax, Bayern can still solidify the team’s attacking prowess to guarantee another successful campaign.
