Date: Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Venue: Allianz Arena.
Today, we take a look at the match preview between Bayern Munich and F.C Köln.
After the Bavarians let go of two- points in a 1-1 draw with Leipzig last weekend at the Red Bull Arena, Bayern Munich will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they host Newcomers Köln on their home turf. The Bavarians will be looking to earn their fourth consecutive win over their counterparts in the German top flight.
Robert Lewandowski scored a beautiful goal in their 1-1 draw with the Red Bulls, meaning the opposition defenders have to keep him at bay.
Köln, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Borussia M’gladbach but they will have a lot on their hands this Saturday against the titleholders.
Bayern Munich did a massive favor to arch-rivals Dortmund this weekend. The surprise loss Niko Kovač and his boys had suffered against Union Berlin could have hurt them bad. But Bayern failed to capitalize on that loss.
Not only did they fail to win, but they put an end to the winning streak of table-toppers RB Leipzig as well, allowing Borussia Dortmund to occupy the second spot.
Bayern Munich must get back to winning ways to as soon as possible if they are not to put themselves under any early pressure. In that regards, this home fixture against a newly promoted side will be of huge help to the reigning German Champions.
And speaking of Köln, they are already finding life difficult in the upper-division. So far they have managed only a single win from their total four fixtures, losing the other three, and are now supposed to take on the mighty Bavarians.
