Bayern star fit for International duty despite injury scare over the weekend

England fans and manager Thomas Tuchel were relieved to hear Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane confirm his fitness for upcoming international matches, despite limping off during Bayern’s 3-0 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The 32-year-old stated he was “okay” after sustaining a knock to his ankle from a challenge by Kaua Santos, forcing him to leave the pitch with five minutes remaining at Deutsche Bank Park.

Kane reassured that the injury was not severe, explaining it was a contact injury to the bone in the same spot he had injured a few weeks prior.

He confidently declared it would be fine in a few days and confirmed his availability for England’s camp, stating he would join the squad on Monday.

Kane’s assurance was vital for Tuchel, who had been concerned about the potential absence of his captain and key striker for England’s upcoming fixtures, including a friendly against Wales on Thursday and a World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

The England skipper form this season underscored his importance, as he had scored 11 Bundesliga goals in just six matchdays, a historic feat in the German top flight, and added four goals in two Champions League matches.

He credited his contribution, alongside a brace from Luis Diaz, for helping Bayern secure a perfect six wins from six league games, placing them four points ahead at the Bundesliga summit.

Under Vincent Kompany’s leadership, Bayern have won all 10 of their competitive matches this season, setting a club record since their 1965 promotion to the Bundesliga.

Kane’s fitness update was particularly timely, as Bayern face a crucial Klassiker against second-placed Borussia Dortmund on October 18.

Manager Vincent Kompany will hope Kane returns from international duty unscathed, ensuring the talisman continues his remarkable scoring streak and leadership on the pitch for the German giants.
