Bernardo shares thought ahead of Celtic Champions League clash with Dortmund

Celtic head into their Champions League showdown against Borussia Dortmund full of goals and confidence.

It has been a brilliant start from Brendan Rodgers’ side, and things are heading the right direction for the team.

It’s not just the number of goals Celtic are scoring, but the quality of football, which is probably better than what Rodgers produced in his first spell.

The standout was Alex Valle’s assist with Adam Idah’s goal. It needs to be remembered that these two players are bench players.

Not even first mentioning Paulo Bernardo’s strike from the edge of the box, which was a team goal of the highest order, proved that this side has every type of goal in its locker.

Celtic have started the new Champions League campaign like a house on fire, and there is a lot of belief around the place.

The revamped Champions League format has favored the Scottish champions, but those extremely difficult tests are still there.

That will be the case on Tuesday night when Dortmund travel to Germany and play in front of the famous Yellow Wall.

The Portuguese star certainly thinks it helps Celtic as they prepare for their biggest test of this Champions League campaign.

Speaking ahead of the game, Bernardo revealed the game will be tough as he expects Dortmund to be on full throttle.

“it will be a tough game, as expected. Dortmund is a difficult ground, but we will be at our best and show our style of play”. Hopefully, we get a result. He added.

As mentioned above, the champions are playing some serious stuff, regardless of who is out on the pitch, from Bernardo to Reo Hatate and Auston Trusty to the currently injured Cameron Carter-Vickers.

As for Celtic’s opponents (Dortmund), they have had mixed results of late. They won over the weekend, but they scored five goals previously and conceded nine in their last three Bundesliga matches.

From an attacking sense, Celtic can and should back themselves to score; it’s about how the defense will stack up, especially if Carter-Vickers is still out.
