Celtic face a pivotal summer as they look to rebuild after a turbulent 2025/26 campaign.
Currently sitting second in the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have suffered seven league defeats and suffered an early exit from the Europa League, leaving fans frustrated despite their traditional dominance.
The immediate priority is securing the managerial position on a permanent basis. Interim boss Martin O’Neill has steadied the ship, but the club must decide whether to appoint him long-term or begin the search for a fresh successor before the transfer window opens.
Beyond the dugout, strengthening the forward line is essential. Celtic’s attacking output has lacked consistency, with only forward Nygren reaching 20 goal contributions (19 goals and seven assists in 48 appearances).
To close the gap on league leaders Hearts and mount a serious title challenge next season, the club needs proven goal threats.
According to well-placed sources, Celtic are preparing a move for Hearts’ Portuguese sensation Claudio Braga.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder or second striker has exploded into life in his debut Scottish season, scoring 12 league goals from just 11.65 expected goals across 30 appearances, plus five assists.
In all competitions, he has registered 15 goals and six assists in 36 games, playing a starring role in Hearts’ surprise push for top spot.
Braga’s clinical finishing, creativity, and work rate have made him one of the Premiership’s standout performers.
Inside sources believe a bid of up to £5 million could be enough to tempt Hearts into a sale, offering Celtic an affordable yet high-impact addition.
With Braga’s arrival, the Hoops could transform their attack and enter the new campaign with renewed ambition.
The summer window will define whether Celtic can reclaim supremacy or risk falling further behind their rivals.
