Kevin De Bruyne is on the verge of joining Napoli from Manchester City on a free transfer.
The Belgian midfielder, whose contract was not renewed by the Citizens, will undergo his medical tests on June 2 and sign a contract with the new Serie A champion.
This follows a hint from Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who practically confirmed the arrival of the Belgium international.
Laurentiis had, during the Scudetto celebrations, said he had spoken to De Bruyne and his family on a video call, which suggested they had already chosen a villa in Naples.
Calciomercato.com also reported that a date has been set to finalize the transfer, with medical tests and the contract signing scheduled for June 2.
Napoli will reportedly have their medicals performed at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome.
According to Sport Mediaset, the details of the contract have been worked out. De Bruyne will sign a two-year deal with an option for a third worth €5.5m per season net, plus a signing-on bonus believed to be set at €10m.
De Bruyne and his family are having their vacation in Ibiza after the end of the season with Manchester City, where his contract expires on June 30.
The 33-year-old midfielder is finally leaving Manchester. He has been since 2015, having previously played for Chelsea, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, and KRC Genk.
He is expected to settle in Naples on time as is a lifestyle choice as much as a football one. The Belgian loves the area so much that he chose it for his wedding.
The arrival of the creative lad will be an addition to the latest Champions that are expected to compete on all fronts and improve the squad this summer.
This seems to be the issue with Antonio Conte, who is reportedly ready to leave the club and return to Juventus.
Maybe with such news, he might be given an assurance of adding more quality players to the squad during the transfer window.
