Esposito signs a new long-term contract

Inter Milan have rewarded striker Francesco Pio Esposito for his contributions by signing him to a new contract through June 2032.

This will lock down the 21-year-old Italy international with the Nerazzurri following a breakout season in 2025.

Inter capitalized on the new Italian rules, which had once capped contracts at five years. The recent update now allows teams to sign six-year deals, and this is one of the first concrete examples in Serie A.

Esposito, who also made his debut for the Azzurri, has been with the Inter’s youth academy since 2014. He worked his way into the starting lineup, playing regularly beside captain Lautaro Martinez.

That might also be thanks to his two-season loan at Spezia in Serie B. He returned to San Siro in 2025 and thrived under coach Cristian Chivu, who had previously trained him in the youth setup.

The 21-year-old Italy international has racked up 12 goals and eight assists in 53 senior appearances for Inter.

He has scored five goals in just nine appearances for the national team, making his debut in September 2025.

He’s now set to earn €2.7m per season net, up from the €1.85m he was making before.

Lautaro’s partnership with Chivu is paying off as they won the Scudetto last season.

Inter also started the 2026–27 season on a high note, winning their first three games, including a comeback victory over 2024 champions Napoli, where Politano opened the scoring at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Esposito has already scored twice in three Serie A outings for the Nerazzurri this season.

That strong return put him in a great spot to land a better and improved deal.

He is therefore expected to continue to learn and help Inter defend the title they won last season.
