Europa League: Lazio inches closer to last 16

Lazio is inching closer to the last 16 of the Europa League after recording a 3-0 win away at Locomotiv Moscow.

Lazio needs to make the job easy for them by defeating Turkish giant, Fenerbahce.

If they lose or draw against Gala, the Biancocelesti is guaranteed at least second place in Group E this evening.
To return to the win the group, Galataray recorded a 4-2 win Olympique Marseille aside 4-2.

With this result, if Yellow fails to attach anything, Marseille will drop into the Europa Conference League.

There has been a conversation about each group winner in the Europa League is different this season. The group winners go directly into the Round of 16.

Those who finish a runners-app second will enter a play-off round to join them.

All Lazio need is automatic wqualification. The Seria A side will take the top spot if they beat Galatasaray at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the final match of the group phase.

In their first meeting, Lazio were beaten 1-0 in Istanbul courtesy of Thomas Strakosha howler, so a 1-0 result will be enough.
That is because Lazio have a superior goal difference to Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, Lazio manager, Maurizio Sarri has praised his lads for securing maximum points away from home against Lokomotiv Moscow.
The relatively comfortable win in Moscow had Ciro Immobile and substitute Pedro thumps up.

Describing Pedro as a phenomenal player, Sarri said after his introduction, he can change everything.

Sarri started Ciro Immobile in this must-win game after his return from a calf injury and the striker found the back of the net.

Information had it that only the group winners in the Europa League go through to the Round of 16, as the runners-up must enter a play-off to earn their ticket to that stage.

Before the Europa Conference League resumes Sarri will be playing against his former club, Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
