Everton boss Frank Lampard lauds Chelsea loanee Armando Broja ahead of their match against Southampton

Former Chelsea icon, Frank Lampard, who is currently at the helm at Everton has lavished praise on young Albanian forward Armando Broja. The youngster is currently on loan at Southampton. Interestingly Lampard handed him the debut back in 2020 when he was the manager at Stamford Bridge.

While Everton were preparing to take on Southampton, Lampard took time to speak about his former pupil. He was still impressed with the young Albanian.

“I gave him his debut at Chelsea. He’s a good lad, a very talented young boy. He came to us at the start of the Covid times & trained with us and is showing his attributes with Southampton now. Fast, strong. Has a real eye for goal. A very, very good play. I’m very aware of his strength,” the Everton boss said at the pre-match press conference.

Despite all the praise and motivation, Lampard will hope that Amando Broja is not in his element when Chelsea takes on Southampton. There have been rumours of Arsenal getting interested in the young Albanian forward. Broja so far has bagged six goals in 20 Premier League appearances for the Saints.

The young striker has shown tremendous potential and has proved Frank Lampard right by impressing several Premier League and other clubs. He is on the radar of clubs from and outside the Premier League.

The 20-year-old is still raw and will gradually get better but he really looks like a ball of energy upfront with his sensational movements and dribbles. He has also delivered in the goal scoring front for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.

Moving on from Broja and Lampard, the bigger news related to Chelsea is currently Jules Kounde’s transfer. The French centre back who currently plies his trade for Spanish outfit, Sevilla is heavily linked with a move to Premier League and Chelsea are the front runners to secure his services.

The Blues are looking to seal the deal with the Frenchman this summer as Kounde emerges as the top priority target for Thomas Tuchel’s men. Some reports suggest that Sevilla are preparing themselves for life after Kounde’s departure and hence they looking for a new centre back, so it looks like Kounde may eventually end up at Stamford Bridge bolstering the Chelsea defence.
