Of these, four have tested positive from three clubs, Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days.” the statement read.

Although the Premier League has been in suspension since March, the league body put in place, ‘Project Restart’ to facilitate a restart of the league with players returning to limited group training on Tuesday.

Furthermore, the UK government gave the go-ahead for the resumption of sports to resume starting from 1 June.

Meanwhile, there has been a unanimous agreement and vote by Premier League clubs to resume contact training, which is phase two of Project Restart.

According to them, players will be able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimizing unnecessary close contact. Also, the discussions as regards resumption are said to be continued until it is safe to do so.
