The road to return for the Spanish La Liga is taking shape after the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) showed its willingness to allow League matches to be played every day in the top two divisions of the country’s football leagues.
Despite an initial dispute between La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation, both bodies have reached an agreement on playing league games on Mondays and Fridays.
This is as a result of the willingness of the RFEF to assist the La Liga to complete the current season.
“The RFEF is allowing LaLiga to play matches on Fridays and Mondays from the resumption of this season’s competition until the end of this season. This isn’t a part of the opening of negotiations; nothing is being asked in return for this over this period of a month and a half.” the statement read, according to Marca.
This means that games could be played on Fridays and Mondays in La Liga, just as La Liga Santander has said that The Seville derby on the 11th or June between Sevilla and Real Betis will be the first top-flight game since the suspension of the league in March.
However, clubs would only be able to have all players train together for the first time just ten days before the June 11 date.
A calendar for the next round of matches has been prepared by the La Liga with match days and kick-off times are set with consideration of the TV audience, weather conditions, and players’ rest as no team will get to play twice in 72 hours.
32 days of non-stop football is expected from June 11 till July 12 while two other match days will be set for July 15 and July 19
