Harry Kane Signs New Bayern Munich Deal Until 2029 After Ballon d’Or Triumph

England captain Harry Kane has committed his future to Bayern Munich by signing a new contract that will keep him at the German giants until 2029, ending speculation over a possible move away from the club.

The 33-year-old striker, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur for £86 million in 2023, had entered the final year of his previous four-year agreement.

His decision to extend his stay comes after an extraordinary period in Germany, during which he has established himself as one of the world’s most prolific forwards.

Kane enjoyed a remarkable 2025-26 campaign, scoring a club-record 61 goals in 51 appearances as Bayern secured a domestic league and cup double.

His outstanding performances also earned him the prestigious Ballon d’Or last month, making him the first Bundesliga player since 1996 to receive the award.

Explaining his decision to remain in Munich, Kane expressed his happiness with life at Bayern.

“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” said Kane.

“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”

Since arriving in Germany, Kane has scored 156 goals in 161 appearances across competitions, including 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga matches.

He has also collected three consecutive Bundesliga Golden Boot awards and five major trophies, ending the long wait for silverware that defined much of his Tottenham career.

The extension effectively rules out an immediate return to the Premier League, where Kane remains 47 goals behind Alan Shearer’s all-time scoring record of 260.

It also deals a blow to Barcelona, who had shown interest in the striker, while Saudi Arabian clubs had also been linked with a potential transfer.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund welcomed the agreement, describing Kane as an exceptional player and leader.

“We’re absolutely delighted, because with Harry Kane we have the Ballon d’Or winner on the pitch – a team player, a leader, the best all-round striker in the world,” said Freund.

“We all benefit from his qualities as a player and as a person, day in, day out. FC Bayern thrives on players who never stop giving their all, even when they have already achieved the greatest of goals.”

With his future settled, Kane will now focus on adding more trophies to his collection while continuing to lead Bayern’s attack.
