AC Milan have confirmed the arrival of Joao Felix from Chelsea on a loan deal next summer.
The Portuguese attacker signed a contract in June 2025, and the deal has no buyback clause.
This means Milan are not likely to secure him on a permanent deal once his loan stint is completed.
The confirmation follows the arrival of the Portuguese striker in Italy on Monday, to become one of the five Milan signings in the 2025 January transfer window.
It was gathered that he did a formality by officially confirming his loan move from Chelsea on Tuesday, as his contract had already been deposited before the deadline of midnight on Monday, February 3.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of João Félix Sequeira from Chelsea FC. The Portuguese attacker has signed a contract with the club lasting until June 30, 2025,” A statement from the club reads.
Felix made his breakthrough in his home country with Benfica. He had begun his career at Padroense and Porto before joining Benfica, where he made his first-team debut in 2017 and won the Portuguese league title.
Felix moved to Atletico Madrid in 2019 after winning the La Liga title with Diego Someone. After suffering from game time and finding it hard to settle into the team, he joined Barcelona and Chelsea.
Félix has so far scored 75 goals in 259 appearances throughout his career.
Since making his national team debut in June 2019, the former Atletico Madrid striker has scored nine goals in 45 appearances and won the 2019 Nations League.
Milan also revealed that Félix will wear the number 79 shirt.
Italian media revealed that Diavolo couldn’t include an option to buy in the deal as negotiations with Chelsea would have been too lengthy. This is due to the length of his contract, which gives the Blues the upper hand in asking the price for a permanent move, which would have been out of reach for the Rossoneri.
Felix is expected to be available for selection on Wednesday when Sergio Conceiçao’s men host Roma at San Siro in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
He has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions with Chelsea this term.
