Jordan Hugill’s Brace Helps Norwich Beat Bristol City

Norwich City tightened their grip on the top spot of the Championship table with a comfortable 2-0 win on Wednesday evening against Bristol City at the Carrow Road.

Jordan Hugill’s brace was all that the Canaries needed to extend their lead at the top of the log to 7 points away from second-placed Swansea City.

The win makes it 5 games unbeaten for the Canaries who now have 4 wins and draw since their last loss against Watford on boxing day in December.

It’s a poor run of 4 away losses on the run for the visitors who are in ninth and have 36 points from 24 games. They had beaten Preston 2-0 at home in their last game over the weekend.

Daniel Farke’s side will continue to seek an immediate promotion to the Premier League with a home tie to Middlesbrough on the 30th of January but the Canaries will face Barnsley first in the FA Cup on the 23rd of January.

Bristol City will face Millwall in the FA Cup on the same day before a Championship game against Huddersfield at home three days later and then a trip to Derby on the 30th of January.

Meanwhile, the win comes a day after the Canaries signed PAOK left-back Dimitris Giannoulis on an initial loan until the end of the season from PAOK Salonika.

However, should the Carrow Road outfit gets promoted to the top flight 25-year old will join Daniel Farke’s outfit permanently.

Norwich City Manager, Daniel Farke expressed that the 2019 Greek League winner is a great addition to the team.

“In Dimitris, we’ve found the piece we were searching for. He’s a good age with lots of room for improvement.” Daniel Farke said.

The player who has made 78 appearances for the club revealed it was a long term dream for him to feature for an English side and that the dream has come to pass.
