Juventus snatch late 3-2 win away at Bodo/Glimt to end Champions League drought

Juventus secured a crucial three points on Matchday 5 of the Champions League group stage with a dramatic 3-2 victory on the road against Bodo/Glimt. 

Battling freezing conditions and snow along the sidelines, the Bianconeri showed great fight to come from behind and grab all three points in the dying moments.

The hosts started strong and took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Ole Didrik Blomberg, capitalizing on Juventus’ early missed chances. 

Manuel Locatelli, Francisco Conceicao, and Vasilije Adzic all tried to break the deadlock but were denied by a resilient Bodo defence.

Juventus made a tactical switch at halftime, bringing on Kenan Yildiz, who marked his 100th appearance for the club, alongside Andrea Cambiaso, who also reached the same milestone.

This fresh impetus sparked a quick response as Loïs Openda pounced inside the box within three minutes of the restart to level the score.

Shortly after, a goal from Fabio Miretti was ruled out, but Juventus kept the pressure on. Weston McKennie then put the visitors ahead with a well-taken strike, completing the turnaround.

Despite Juventus pushing for a second goal to kill the game, Bodo/Glimt remained dangerous and earned a penalty late on. Sondre Brunstad Fet calmly converted from the spot in the 87th minute to make it 2-2 and set up a nervy finish.

However, Juventus showed great composure and persistence. In the first minute of stoppage time, Jonathan David was in the right place to slot home the winner from close range, sealing a vital victory and ending Juventus’ Champions League winless run this season.

This win provides a much-needed confidence boost as Juventus look to build momentum in Europe’s elite competition.
