Leicester City is Stalling in the Transfer Market

Leicester City is the only team in the Premier League not to have made any signings this summer, and manager Brendan Rodgers seems resigned to not being able to strengthen the club for next season.

The club has been experiencing one of the best times in its history. Two years after returning to the Premier League, they won it by surprise and against all odds. They have also had regular participation in all European competitions. The King Power Stadium has seen action from the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League. Finally, last season, the Foxes won the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Part of the club’s success is because it had achieved a good cash flow with young players who came to the club, had a good performance, and were later sold, generating profits that financed the purchase of new talent.

N’Golo Kanté left for Chelsea in 2016, and the profits generated paid for the transfers of players like Kelechi Iheanacho and Harry Maguire in 2017. Maguire left for Manchester a year later, as did Riyad Mahrez, who joined City. Both sales generated significant profits for the club.

But this summer, it seems that no one is interested in the Leicester players, and the worst part is that the club has ten players whose contract is up in the next twelve months, which puts a lot of pressure.

One of the players with whom the club hoped to make money was Youri Tielemans. The player has a high level, and many clubs have shown interest in him, but so far no formal offer has arrived.

Currently, the only offer that has reached the club is for Timothy Castagne, but the player is not on the transfer list. However, the club would consider selling him if there are no more offers for other players.
