Lens sign Bah from Man City on loan

Lens have confirmed the signing of Juma Bah from Manchester City on an initial loan deal till the end of the season.

The English champions also confirmed this, who revealed that the 18-year-old will be with the French club for the remainder of the season. During the six-month stay at the French club, the defender will help Lens fill the hole left by  Abdukodir Khusanov, who recently joined the Citizens.

Since the sale of Uzbekistan, Lens had been in the market for a center-back during the current transfer window when it became clear that Khusanov was leaving.

The French club had been looking for several options for this role; however, their efforts were hampered by their current financial situation.

The latest update shows that a new relationship with Manchester City helped complete the deal.

The financial constraint made them revert to the burgeoning relationship with Manchester City, which produced an immediate fix for the departure of the Uzbekistan international.

This is an opportunity for playing time for Bah, who has quickly risen to prominence this season with Real Valladolid and was snapped up by the reigning Premier League champions.

Although His arrival is for a short-term development in Ligue 1, L’Équipe and The Telegraph had earlier reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers had returned to their pursuit of center-back Kevin Danso, which was rejected as they couldn’t afford to lose their top two defenders in a window.

The was also helped by the 26-year-old, as  Wolves had attempted to convince him to join them earlier this month.

His decision could be about their position in the English Premier League, battling relegation.

According to reports, the Premier League side submitted a €19 million offer for the defender, below the 22 million Euros value they placed on the defender.

Les Sang et Or have already lost two key components during the winter transfer window, with Abdukodir Khusanov and former captain Brice Samba leaving for big-money moves to Manchester City and Stade Rennais.
