Lewandowski dreams of Messi partnership

Barcelona and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has spoken about the quality that Argentina forward Lionel Messi possesses and has stated that it is a dream for any striker to play with the former Barcelona star.

Lionel Messi left Camp Nou for PSG in 2021 and has enjoyed a second season after an inconsistent first season in League one, albeit he eventually won the league one title last season.

This season, Messi has also enjoyed a successful campaign both in the League and the UEFA Champions League, with seven goals and ten assists in the league and four goals in the UEFA Champions League.

However, reports have been linking Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona, although there have also been talks about a move to the MLS in the US, where David Beckham has spoken about the possibility of bringing Messi to Inter Miami.

As Lewandowski and Messi both prepare for the World Cup with their respective countries, Poland and Argentina, Lewandowski believes that the South American country are heavy favorites to go ahead and win the competition.

He further stated in the interview that Messi is one player every striker football wants to play with.

“I don’t know what’s going on right now, but for a striker, it would be a dream to play with Lionel Messi. If you think about Messi, he has this brilliant connection with strikers. He knows how to put the ball into the box, between the lines… he’s the best in the world at that. Messi is brilliant with the amazing passes he plays to the striker,” Lewandowski said.

Lewandowski has helped Barcelona to the top of the La Liga table going into the world cup break as they lead Real Madrid with two points.

The Poland striker has 13 goals in as many matches already this season.
