Match date: 21 December, 2019.
Venue: Stade d’ Louis, Monaco.
We take another look at another preview in the matchday of the French Ligue 1 as Monaco take on Lille this weekend.
Both teams had previously met during the week [Tuesday] in the League cup action where Lille secured their passage into the Quarterfinals as they thrashed Monaco 3-0 with Victor Osimhen and Loic Remy scoring twice.
It is another fixture between these two as Lille will be desperate to get the maximum points and hoping to build on their performance during the week as they have three sides breathing down their necks on the Ligue 1 table. So, getting the required points will be crucial for the team.
LOSC Lille has had four wins in five outings beforehand, and the 2-1 narrow defeat to Chelsea has been the only interruption in their run of form.
Monaco, on the other hand, has been in terrible form and they have struggled to find the net first with a goalless draw at Angers and a defeat at home to Lille earlier this week. They have not been defeated in front of their home fans, but have witnessed a severe blow, and they have to recuperate for the match coming up this Saturday.
Monaco has previously secured six wins on their home ground- Stade d’ Louis scoring a total of 16 goals along the way which will serve as a sort of motivation for them.
However, this is a match which will also determine Leonardo Jardim position as the head coach after returning to the club. He has been under intense pressure to perform.
