Liverpool and Man City share spoils in 4-goal thriller

Chelsea FC were the big winners off the result of the big game between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Anfield on Sunday evening.

The Blues stay clear at the top of the Premier League table going into the international break, with one point clear of second placed Liverpool, and two points off Manchester City in third.

However, Sunday’s game started with the first half ending goalless but the second half served more drama as the Reds went into the lead when Mohammed Salah provided Sadio Mane’s opener a minute before the hour mark.

Phil Rosen equalised with a spectacular strike in the 69th minute, while Mohammed Salah got his goal in the 76th minute, only for Kevin De Bruyne to secure a point for Manchester City five minutes later.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his emotion, which was visibly animated on the touchline.

“If you ask me about the points of course I am happy if you ask me about the performance I am more than happy. The way we have played the last three games has been magnificent. We have played a lot of players and they have all played with personality and personality and unfortunately we could not win.” Guardiola said.

Manchester City will return after the international break at home to Burnley while Liverpool will travel to the Vicarage Road to face Watford who fired Xico Munoz as their manager after just 10 months on the job.

Munoz was fired after Watford’s 1-0 loss to Leeds United on Saturday. In other Premier League result at the weekend, West Ham lost to Brentford 2-1 after a late goal while Leicester City threw away a 2-0 advantage to draw 2-2 at the Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal and Brighton played a 0-0 draw while Tottenham were able to beat Aston Villa 2-1 in North London.
