Liverpool battle PSG for Akliouche

Liverpool have expressed interest in Maghnes Akliouche after making an approach to Monaco over the potential signing of the 24-year-old attacker.

With the summer transfer window open, Sky Sports reported that the Premier League side will likely compete for the signature of the French international attacker who has been a priority target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup now over, Les Parisiens are expected to intensify their move for the attacker, having sent several offers to the principality club to try and secure his services.

Since they have failed to strike an agreement, it’s an opportunity for Liverpool to make an approach that could match the French champions’ latest offer, believed to be in the region of €40m.

Liverpool have not hidden their intention of signing an attacker this summer, and that pursuit continues.

According to reports, the Anfield club have contacted Monaco to understand the Frenchman’s availability.

With contacts made, it is left to be seen whether Les Monégasques will be receptive to the Reds’ interest.

Although the offer tabled is yet to be reported, it will be a bargain if the Enfield club can get him and reinforce their attack for the new season.

Akliouche, who was on the bench for France’s 6-4 defeat to England in the World Cup third-place play-off, is capable of playing on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder.

He had a huge season with Monaco, making 31 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 6 goals, and adding 6 assists.

The Frenchman fits the winger role, as he is left-footed and can play on the right, offering a replacement for Mohammed Salah, who has left the club.

Another option is RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who is also reportedly on PSG’s radar.

It would take some form of convincing for Les Parisiens to cough up an estimated £112m for the Ivory Coast international.

This made the Premier League side change their attention to  Akliouche, whom they believe will be available for a lesser fee, and they are now exploring the option.
