Manchester City star admits stark reality about poor form

After four matches without a win, Manchester City defense Ruben Dias has admitted that it’s normal for times like this to come when Manchester City will struggle to win matches.

The 27-year-old Portuguese defr who has been part of the club’s successful seasons in the past has helped Manchester City win the Premier League in all of his first four seasons with the club.

The latest result was a 2-1 loss to Brighton at Amex Stadium on Saturday, compounding the team’s issue, making it the first time Pep Guardiola will go four consecutive matches in all competitions without a win in his career and Manchester City’s first since 2006.

City also lost 4-1 to Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League last week after a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League. Manchester City’s last win was a 1-0 victory over Southampton on October 23.

“These times are never welcome in a dressing room like ours. Even though they’re not welcome, we do know they’re part of it, especially when we’ve won so much. We accept it, we embrace it; that’s part of the challenge. That’s why we love it so much. If not for this, our wins wouldn’t be as big as they are. It’s the life we live, and we love it for it. We just keep on doing what we do best.” Ruben Dias said.

The poor run of form has put Manchester City’s title defence in a tight corner as they currently sit four points behind the table toppers Liverpool.

City’s drop of form has been attributed to absence of Balon D’or winner Rodri who is out for the rest of the season and a burgeoning injury list which Pep Guardiola said has 13 first team players on it.

Manchester City will return to Premier League action after the international game with a home game against Tottenham.
