Mikel Arteta Puts His Position on the Line

The Gunners are going through an uncertain period. Since the arrival of Mikel Arteta at the Emirates, the club has had a performance with ups and downs.

The club failed to achieve European qualification last season, and in the current season, they are not competing for any silverware as they are left out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Before the winter transfer window opened, the club had achieved stable progress in the Premier League, managing to place itself in fourth place in the table.

All the fans hoped that the club would take advantage of the winter market to strengthen it and maintain its good performance in the Premier.

Gunners are especially in need of firepower after Mikel Arteta banished Aubemayang as their primary attacking reference.

But at the close of the transfer market, the club did not bring in any high-caliber player. On the contrary, 14 players left the Emirates, including Aubemeyang.

The situation has left experts and fans with great doubts about the plan of Arteta to face the rest of the season.

Clubs like Everton, Aston Villa, and Newcastle have bolstered their squads with big names and are expected to be formidable opponents in the second half of the season.

The hierarchy of the Gunners, especially the owners of the club, have shown their full support for Arteta’s decisions, but what happened in the transfer market leaves many doubts.

For some experts, Arteta is putting his position on the line because if the club does not get good results in the remainder of the Premier League, the fans will clamor for his head.

In addition, Arteta has been harshly criticized for his way of handling the players. Ozil and Aubemeyang’s situations show that the Spaniard has no tact in dealing with players.
