Napoli have turned down an improved bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen made an instant impact with Galatasaray, where he spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Istanbul and emerged as the top goal scorer, leading to Cup and league titles.
Napoli had already frozen out the Nigerian striker last summer before he secured a temporary exit. With the expectation of selling Osimhen this summer, the Partonopei want to ensure they get a good bargain for him.
The Nigerian international joined the club from Lille in the summer of 2020, and led them to their first Serie A title in 33 years two seasons ago before falling out with the management.
He has also been pushing for a move away from the Partenopei for the last year.
After a permanent move away from Napoli fell through spectacularly on deadline day of the summer transfer window in 2024, Osimhen had to join Galatasaray on loan for the 2024-25 season.
His instant impact resulted in 37 goals and eight assists from 41 appearances across all competitions.
Napoli want to ensure that whichever club wants to buy the former Lille striker meets the €75m release clause in his contract, which is valid for teams outside of Italy.
According to reports, Osimhen has an agreement in place with Galatasaray over a three-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months. But there still needs to be an agreement between Napoli and Galatasaray.
Sky Sport Italia reported that Napoli got Galatasaray’s opening bid of €60m in his contract, and they rejected it.
The defending champions of Italy are pushing for a higher fee, close to the €75m release clause in his contract.
