Ndour leaves PSG for Fiorentina, Kari to stay

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Cher Ndour’s departure to Florentina, as Ayman Kari won’t be leaving the club in the winter transfer window.

The midfielder joined the Serie A club after spending the first half of the 2024-2025 campaign on loan at Besiktas.

The Italian international youth joined PSG in July 2023 from Benfica but has found game time hard to come by at the Paris club as they have never really settled.

This prompted the club to send him on loan to SC Braga in January 2024 after he featured four times with Les Parisiens.

PSG again loaned Ndour to Besiktas at the beginning of the season. He played 22 times for the Istanbul-based team, scoring one goal and two assists.

PSG then cut Ndour’s loan short and sold the midfielder to free up a loan spot because they had already maxed out the quota of six senior players they could send on loan. Les Parisien already have Renato Sanches (Benfica), Milan Skriniar (Fenerbahçe), Carlos Soler (West Ham), Randal Kolo Muani (Juventus), Nordi Mukiele (Bayer Leverkusen), and Ndour out on loan.

With Ndour’s exit,  PSG can loan Marco Asensio to Aston Villa. According to reports, Fiorentina agreed to a €12m transfer fee with PSG over Ndour.

In another development, L’Équipe reported that Kari’s prospective move to AS Saint-Étienne has fallen through.

The 20-year-old returned to formative club PSG in the summer after two relatively successful seasons on loan at FC Lorient,  even if Les Merlus made the drop to Ligue 2 in his second and final season at the club.

However, upon his return to the Parc des Princes, Kari still found game time hard to come by. He couldn’t convince Luis Enrique to include him, so the midfielder was left out of the first-team set-up.

After failing to secure a move away from Les Parisiens in the summer, he looked set to leave this month as a deal had been agreed upon between PSG and ASSE.

However, for unknown reasons, he will not be joining Les Verts, as it looks likely that he will remain with his formative club this month.

He will have an opportunity to decide his future soon, in the summer, as his contract will expire at the end of the season.
