England forward Marcus Rashford has committed to a new long-term contract at Old Trafford after signing a new four-year deal to 2028—the 25-year-old with what had one year left on his contract that was due to end in 2024. Tuesday, the Old Trafford club released a statement that Rashford signed a new deal.
The striker scored 30 goals in 56 games under new manager Erik Ten Hag last season, which sparked rumors of a possible exit for the English forward with PSG, one of the clubs reported to be interested.
However, the striker who made his United debut in 2016 has stated that he still has the same drive and passion for the Red shirt and promised to give his all.
“I joined Manchester United as a seven-year-old boy with a dream. That same passion, pride, and determination to succeed still drive me every time I have the honor of wearing the shirt. I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club. However, there is still a lot more to achieve, and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead. As a United fan all my life, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this badge and feel the highs and lows as much as anyone.” Rashford said.
He said he will give everything to help the team reach the level we are capable of, and he feels the same determination around the dressing room, stating that he is more excited for the future under Erik Ten Hag.
Marcus Rashford made his debut in 2016 against Midtjylland and has scored 123 goals in 359 games for his boyhood club.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have agreed a deal of around £47.2m for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana which will see the Old Trafford club pay £43.8m up front for the Cameroon player, with an additional £3.4m in add-ons.
The Red Devils are hoping other details will be sorted soon so that he will be able to join them on the trip to the US for the pre-season.
