Inter Milan marksman Romelu Lukaku is not for sale this summer as Club CEO Guiseppe Marotta once again reiterated the same fact. The former Manchester United striker scored 24 goals in 36 appearances and helped the Nerazzurri lift the Serie A title under the tutelage of Antonio Conte. His consistent goalscoring performances for Inter have attracted interest from several top European clubs.
Lukaku has enjoyed life in Italy as he has scored several goals and also formed a great partnership with Argentina’s Laurtaro Martinez. The duo are very lethal in Serie A and they have been extremely consistent as well. They compliment each other in terms of everything in attack and both of them can turn facilitators for the other allowing them to score more.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset ahead of a friendly with Pergolettese, Marotta said: “From our side, we can yes absolutely, Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi.”
With a new coach coming in and a lot of players leaving the club this summer, it will be difficult for Simone Inzaghi to replicate a performance like last season under Conte.
English Premier League outfit Chelsea are eager to sign Romelu Lukaku. The former Chelsea forward who did not have his best time at the club may join Stamford Bridge again. The Blues are in search of a striker and they targeted Borussia Dortmund’s, Erling Haaland. But high asking fee swayed the Blues towards options like Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Romelu Lakaku. However, their chances of securing any striker this summer look pretty bleak.
Inter Milan’s current financial condition is not good and hence they were forced to sell their highly prized possession of Achraf Hakimi who joined Paris Saint Germain ahead of a big football season for the Parisians.
The money raised from Hakimi’s transfer has helped Inter Milan address their financial issues and that signing has helped them massively. Other than Chelsea another English Premier League club, Manchester City are also in search of a striker who can replace their record goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who joined FC Barcelona. City have tried their hand at players like Haaland and Kane but none of them has given any positive response to keep chasing them and therefore City decide to open their avenues and even target Romelu Lukaku. Pep Guardiola feels like Romelu Lukaku has that potential to end up being a club legend for the Cityzens.
