Scott Parker looks forward to Bournemouth’s trip to Etihad

After securing a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium on the opening weekend, newly-promoted side Bournemouth are looking forward to a fantastic experience when they travel to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in their second Premier League game of the 2022/2023 season.

On their return to the top-flight, the Cherries faced Aston Villa and were able to secure a 2-0 victory courtesy of goals from Jefferson Lemar and Kieffer Moore.

Manchester City also managed a 2-0 win over West Ham United at the Olympic stadium, with their new signing Erling Haaland scoring a brace.

The Cityzens will host Bournemouth in their second game, with the champions the clear favorites. However, the Cherries manager Scott Parker is unperturbed about the ratings but wants his players to go toe to toe with them.

He said his team worked tirelessly in the championship last season to get to the Premier League, and he wants his players to build on that and get results by not giving too much respect to the champions when they clash at the weekend.

“We worked tirelessly for the challenge that we’ll face this year, which is playing in the biggest stadiums against the best players, against the biggest managers, and going toe to toe with them. While, of course, the quality is there, and the challenge is there, it’s a challenge I want my players to relish and not shirk away from. They’ll go up against these players and show their worth and make their stance in this division. That’s exactly where our mindset is at, and that’s where it needs to be.” Scott Parker said.

Manchester City will be the start of 3 stern tests for Bournemouth as they face Arsenal and Liverpool next in the Premier League.
