In recent years, soccer has gradually become a popular sport in the USA. More and more players are seen to stand out at the international level, and the MLS has become a competitive league.

The popularity of soccer in the USA is on the rise, and it is becoming a force to be reckoned with at the international level.

For example, the 2022 MLS season saw a significant increase in viewership for matches, as well as viewership and official merchandise sales.

According to information from Forbes, the 2022 MLS regular season managed to become the one with the largest number of fans registered in the stadiums since the existence of the American competition, as it reached more than 10 million attendees.

With this figure, MLS broke the previous record, which had been set in the 2019 season, when 8.6 million attendees were registered in the regular phase of the competition alone.

The popularity of the teams has also increased in social networks since, in total, it is estimated that at least 600,000 new followers were generated on platforms, representing an increase of 65% concerning the number of followers in 2021.

Forbes also details that 10 of the 28 teams registered significant growth in attendance at games, with Atlanta United, Charlotte FC, and Seattle Sounders having the highest average number of fans per game, exceeding the average of 30,000 attendees in each home game.

The television audience has also seen a 13% increase in audience per game.

Finally, it is highlighted that the sale of items such as t-shirts has also experienced around 10% compared to the previous year.

This shows that the MLS is about to become an important league in the USA and worldwide.
