Southgate Unimpressed With fans during Montenegro win

England national team coach, Gareth Southgate has blasted some sets of the Three Lions fans for booing Liverpool Defender Joe Gomez during England’s thrashing of Montenegro at the Wembley Stadium on Thursday night.

Joe Gomez started the game despite having a row with Manchester City Forward Raheem Sterling [who started the game from the ben] in the days building up to the game on Thursday.

In England’s 1000th game at Wembley, the Three Lions whitewashed Montenegro 7-0 as Harry Kane scored a hattrick while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Marcus Rashford, Tammy Abraham and an Aleksandar Sofranac own goal completed the rout.

The result means that England has now qualified for the Euro 2020 as Group A winners.

Meanwhile, while showing his disappointment at the gesture of English fans to the Liverpool player when he was substituted, he stressed that the team was disappointed but at the same time united as the players are one.

He also disclosed he would hold talks with the Liverpool defender while Sterling will start the next game against Kosovo.

Furthermore, he revealed it was a wrong thing for the fans to have booed the defender as he had done nothing wrong, and that neither should any player who put on the England Shirt be subjected to such.

He then claimed that Gomez has the support of him and every single member of the team, emphasizing that the team is united and together behind one another.

Raheem Sterling also threw his weight behind Gomez in a lengthy social media post on Twitter claimed he would want things to be left the way they were, but it was difficult to see his fellow teammate booed for something that wasn’t his fault.

He insisted that Gomez had done nothing wrong and said it was tough on the Liverpool defender after his hard work to remain focused on the game, speaking he didn’t do anything wrong, preferring to take the full responsibility and consequences.

Despite immense racial discrimination, England defeated Bulgaria 6-0 in Sofia last month, and this time around, the controversies surrounding another excellent result involved the Three Lions themselves.

England are pegged at 1.59 to emerge victorious against Kosovo, while Kosovo are available 5.81 to upset England.
