Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo expects to speak with Harry Kane soon after his training snub

Former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is all set to take over at Tottenham Hotspur as their new manager. The Portuguese manager has not yet met with Harry Kane who is yet to hit the training ground after leading England to the finals of Euros 2020. Kane has missed the first two training sessions, which he was due to report.

According to reports Spurs are all set to fine Kane for missing two training sessions. Tensions are also flaring up as the 28-year is linked with several clubs this summer and he believes that he has a gentleman’s agreement with Daniel Levy that will see him leave the North London outfit.

Meanwhile, Nuno believes that Kane will remain at the club this summer. With Manchester City’s interest in the player increasing every day, Kane may very well leave for the Etihad Stadium.

“I expect to speak with Harry soon. I haven’t had the chance yet. We have to first of all, solve the problems ourselves, then I will speak to you,” Nuno told the reporters at the press conference after their 2-2 draw with Chelsea in a preseason friendly.

“It’s not that I don’t want to comment, what I believe is all this issue in relation to everything should be discussed internally, among us. Let’s try to avoid any kind of public argument or discussion about it. We have to focus on what is important, and solve the situation between us.

“We will solve the situation internally, with the club speaking and trying to reach a better solution and a conclusion to the situation.

“All of pre-season has been hard for every club. It’s different, I know, but the absence of a lot of players due to international duty has made it a hard time for a lot of managers.”

Nuno has seen the arrival of new players at the club. Atalanta custodian Pierluigi Gollini has joined the club this summer along with Spanish winger Bryan Gill. The Sevilla winger is currently representing Spain at the Tokyo Olympics and has guided la Roja to the finals. Spurs allowed Erik Lamela to go the other way in a cash plus player deal. The Lillywhites have also agreed to a £47m deal to sign Atalanta centre back Christian Romeo, who is hailed as one of the best young defenders in European football.
